Blackmoon Prophecy (the original) is no longer being supported in any form going forward. This means no bug fixes, changes or additions, or any other form of meaningful updates. With the game being completed in 2012, eight years ago now, I just feel like it's time to move on. This feels like a decision I should have made ages ago, but Blackmoon Prophecy II and III existing made me feel as if I was obligated to keep doing small updates on the original.
Blackmoon Prophecy III biting the dust is partly responsible for this decision, but not fully. Like I said, I just feel like it's time for me to focus on other things. Blackmoon Prophecy II will still receive the odd minor fix here and there probably for another year or so, but I don't expect to continue supporting that game either beyond 2021. I want to focus on other things that are not fan game related, and this does mean the gradual phasing out of all support for anything Blackmoon Prophecy related (though I will still enjoy reading comments and reviews as well as watching Let's Plays).
I am sorry to hear about cancellation, but the only solution is

ReplyDeleteUprc I really think you have alot of talent in this field and as an avid supporter I as many others im sure hope you reconsider in the future making more fan games. It really gives alot of light to people what you and others have dedicated tremendous amounts of hours authoring into your vision of love letters to RPGS. I know it was a blow losing BP3 it was to alot of people. But blackmoon prophecy 1 and 2 have prospered and created a very genuine heartfelt expirience. Take you time IRL..Honestly your talents could produce commercial RPGS that I know people including myself woukd buy if you made original games..but those fan games are just gems. God bless friend..hope you find your way.
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to add I have dabbled on and off for 10 years myself creating games and not one made it through the fence. I know it takes alot of dedication and patience but I'll tell you man it's really rewarding having your creation put out there and enjoying ( mostly) the time you spent creating it and getting that recognition for your work. But also a gut punch losing alot of progress to a game with high hopes. But when we fall we get back up. Or sometimes we just need a break or hiatus. Either or I thank you for the entertainment IV received from your hard work on all the Blackmoon Prophecy games. These games are very appreciated and so is the face who made them.
